The Community Networking Forum has a new name!
Community Services Summit
Serving educators and service providers since 1998
The Community Services Summit brings the private and public schools, community agencies, government entities and the faith community together to share ideas and resources for assisting the children and their families in St. Charles County. In order to provide quality services, key people share resources for use in the schools and in the community. The Summit provides participants with the opportunity to learn about these resources by visiting displays that highlight local agencies, schools and programs. Skill-building breakout sessions are also offered. Keynote and closing speakers provide a community-wide vision of connection, networking and collaboration.
The first Community Services Summit was held on October 15, 1999. The Summit concept originated from the City of St. Charles School District Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities Grant Advisory Council. The council was composed of community agencies and school counselors. School counselors stated that they needed to know the community resources in order to refer families for further assistance. Community agency representatives also desired to know the resources of the schools and how they could work together to better assist families. The Advisory Council decided to host a "forum" to bring these groups together to network, share resources and to discuss how they could work together to make a difference in the community. The Community Services Summit is an annual event held every October:
